Julia Fleckenstein is “Jo Jo” in Disney’s Newsies

Julia Fleckenstein makes her Casa Mañana debut as “Jo Jo” in Disney’s Newsies. Originally from Dallas, we are thrilled to have her in Cowtown!

At just the age of three, Julia began dancing. She dabbled in ballet, jazz, lyrical and hip hop. In high school, she attended Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts and focused primarily on ballet and modern dance. Last year she received a BFA in Musical Theatre with an emphasis in dance from the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University.

She credits teacher Michelle Areyzaga for her impact on her career. “I never had real voice lessons prior to college, and she has been there for me every step of the way on the journey to not only free my voice, but also the journey in becoming my authentic artist self with self-acceptance and love.”

Don’t miss Julia’s incredible dance skills – on stage thru June 12. Tickets are available here: https://casamanana.org/events/disneysnewsies/
