SPOTLIGHT CLASSES

This semester, perform Stephen Schwartz’s hits from Wicked, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and more! Students will prepare musical theatre numbers from the iconic composer and show off what they’ve learned in a Main Stage showcase at the end of the semester.

Acting 1

Grades 3-6: Monday, 5:30-6:25pm

Learn what it means to be an actor in a fun and supportive environment! Students will work on character development in various styles of theatre as they explore risk-taking and the power of bold choices. This is a great class for students who are curious about what it means to be an actor.

Acting 2

Tuesday, 5-5:55pm

This class is for students with some experience and familiarity with the basics of acting. Level 2 delves deeper into fundamentals, improvisation, physicality, and more.

PLEASE NOTE: You may only take this class if you have done one of the following: Taken Acting 1 at Casa Studios, Taken an acting class elsewhere, or performed in 3 or more productions

Acting 3

In this class, experienced students will explore more complex scenes or topics, different types of text (verse, prose, etc.), diverse styles, and more.

Dance to the rhythm of the music in this dynamic course! Learn physically, basic dance vocabulary and get an introduction to multiple musical theatre dance styles.

ADVANCED DANCE

Former Rockette, Broadway dancer and TCU faculty member Merrill West teaches complex work across the floor in various styles (Bob Fosse, Michael Bennett, etc.), plus warm-up, technique, and body awareness. This professional-level class is truly advanced and is open to college students and adults wanting to build and maintain their skills.

EXPLORER'S CLUB

This class gives young artists the opportunity for imaginative play and guided creative thinking!  Join the Explorer’s Club as we open the Theatre in a Trunk each week to explore the art of storytelling.

This class lets young performers blast off on an adventure! Your child will explore the art of performance through a story of their own making on the historic Casa Mañana Main Stage.

Apprentice PROGRAM

By Audition Only
Grades 6-12
 Mondays from 5:30-8:30 pm
$1,200 per year

Casa Mañana’s Apprentice Program is for the most dedicated young performers in the DFW area. This program is by audition-only and a limited number of students will be accepted each year. Students will train with professional Teaching Artists and receive special consideration in casting for Casa Mañana productions and early access to masterclasses.

Auditions for the 2023-24 year are August 12, 2023 at 10am. Please prepare a 32-bar cut of a song to demonstrate your vocal ability and a monologue (less than 1 minute). A pianist will be provided; bring sheet music with your audition cut marked. A dance call will be held during the audition, so bring dance shoes and wear clothes you are comfortable moving in. An email will be sent to those who sign up with detailed information after August 1. SIGN UPS CLOSE AUGUST 1, 2023.

We’re celebrating 30 years of All-Abilities classes! Our All-Abilities program is designed specifically for youth and adults with special needs, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or social/sensory differences. We are happy to partner with Junior League of Fort Worth this year, providing volunteer and financial support for this one-of-a-kind program!
