Greg White returns to Casa Mañana to star as “Pulitzer” in Disney’s Newsies! He was last on our stage in 2019 as “Franz” in The Producers.
This is Greg’s first time to “Seize the Day,” and he welcomes the chance to play the villain. While Pulitzer doesn’t do much dancing, Greg says, “[I’m excited about] the dancing. I know, I know. Pulitzer doesn’t really do much foot-puttin’ in the show. But I can’t wait to see these guys kill it!”
When asked about how his career got started he says this –
“I’ve had a diverse career. I’ve played a nun, a giant, an elf, and everything in between. Lived in NYC for nearly a decade, and was able to perform in NYC, on Broadway National Tours, on cruise ships, at regional theatres, and on international credits. I truly love performing. I’m also a director, producer, playwright, professor, and arts presenter. The arts are my life.”
His advice to his younger self and aspiring artists is to stop worrying about what “they” want. “Just focus on your training and your artistry. You are enough.”
Greg would like to give an honorable mention to Marilyn Govich (friend, colleague, voice teacher, queen). “[She] helped me find my voice. Literally. She helped me coach for Newsies. She continues to influence and inspire.”
On a lighter note – the way to Greg’s heart is tacos. “Buy me tacos, make me tacos, be tacos.” When he’s not thinking about tacos he’s spending time with his dog, Harlow. “It’s Harlow’s world. I just live in it.”
Greg stuns on stage as Pulitzer thru June 12. Don’t miss your chance to see him. https://casamanana.org/events/disneysnewsies/
