Samantha McHenry returns to the Dome after Disney’s Descendants to understudy the roles of “Shelby” and “Anelle” in Steel Magnolias!
Going into her first production of Steel Magnolias, Samantha cannot wait to block the wedding scene. “I love the joy and anticipation for the big celebration, coupled with the girly excitement of gorgeous hair/nail styles that the beauty salons always bring!” Like Shelby, Samantha is recently married. When comparing herself to Anelle, she says, “I relate most to her determination to always see the positive in every situation.”
In preparation for the production, Samantha likes to learn her lines by writing them out. “Being a visual learner, this helps me learn my lines much quicker than simply reading them.”
When asked about her most memorable haircut, Samantha says, “When I was 8 years old, I took scissors from my dad’s office and cut my own hair. It was pretty bad – half of my hair was 6 inches shorter than the other half. I rocked a pretty great bowl cut until it grew back.”
