REPORTS TO: President & Executive Producer 

HOURS: Full time Exempt. Hours based on theatre schedule

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:    

  • Contribute to the development of and management of production budgets
  • Maintain a clear line of communication between directors, designers, stage managers, musicians and other show-related staff
  • Determine staffing needs, hire and onboard stage management, overhire labor and show crew
  • Develop production schedules and conduct regular production meetings 
  • Coordinate artist contract negotiations, protecting the interests of Casa Mañana (CM) and ensuring contractual compliance with CM.
  • Act as liaison between CM and artists/agents, including offering employment, executing contract, and mailing contract to artist/agent along with necessary onboarding paperwork.
  • Follow through on contracts to ensure compliance of contractual & union obligations of CM.
  • Track all offers/contract status complete with payroll & benefit information.
  • Assist artists by securing transportation and lodging when necessary, distributing scripts and scores, receiving reimbursements and responding to any questions or concerns the artist may have. 
  • Remain knowledgeable of artist union contracts & collective bargaining agreements.
  • Coordinate arrangements for local and out of town auditions, including rental of audition spaces, retaining pianists, retaining audition helpers, contacting selected artists for audition appointments and preparing audition materials
  • Assist executive producer and marketing director in scheduling casting activities of CM, such as press appearances.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as requested by executive producer 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in technical theatre, related field or equivalent work experience. 

SKILLS: Proficiency in technical theatre practices; excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail-oriented and organized; flexible and able to lead an entire production team across multiple departments with full-time, part-time and contract employees; budgeting; understanding of the design process; experience with AEA and USA agreements; proficiency in Microsoft Office. 

EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years’ experience in theatrical management with producing theatre.

REPORTS TO: General Manager 

OBJECTIVE: Ensure a clean, safe experience and environment for all patrons. Oversee facilities and front of house, including house manager and relative staff, volunteers and marketing efforts.  

HOURS: Full time EXEMPT. Office Hours:  9am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Evening and Weekend hours as needed based on production schedule.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:    

  • Coordinate with janitorial service for schedule, supply needs, contract issues and maintenance of exceptionally clean areas  
  • Program HVAC based on production schedule, coordinating maintenance schedules and emergency issues 
  • Coordinate parking lot with events 
  • Schedule security officers for shows and special events 
  • Schedule general repairs and maintenance 
  • Coordinate facility rentals 
  • Supervise house management, including oversight of personnel, Casateers, inventory and budgets  
  • Assist production and development departments as needed 
  • Other duties as assigned by general manager 

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in communications, special events or non-profit management or equivalent work experience 

 SKILLS: Excellent, interpersonal, supervisory and communications skills; a reputation for accuracy, responsiveness, meticulous attention to detail and follow-up; highly organized and self-motivated; strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite,  

EXPERIENCE: Five or more years’ experience in special events or related field with at least 2 years in management. Non-profit and/or performing arts experience preferred.

REPORTS TO: Sound Designer and Engineer 

HOURS: Full time Non-exempt. Hours based on theatre schedule 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:    

  • Provide audio support for all mainstage, cabaret and educational productions 
  • Maintain inventory of audio equipment 
  • Alternate with Sound Designer as A1 or A2, based on show schedule and requirements for main stage productions  
  • A1 for Reid Cabaret Theatre performances 
  • Assist with all pre-show and post-show audio procedures 
  • Assist with audio requirements for rehearsal studio and lobby 
  • Handle the purchasing of materials within budget 
  • Handle department and show-level bookkeeping including credit cards, invoices, and budgets. 
  • Maintain clean and safe working environment 
  • Assist with tech rehearsal set up 
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as requested by executive producer 

SKILLS: Mastery of A1 and A2 positions; sound design experience; detail-oriented and organized; flexible and able to work independently without direct supervision; applicant must be able to lift 50 pounds. 

EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years’ experience working with theatrical productions for producing theatre.

ABOUT US

At CMS, we offer education and performance opportunities for students from Pre-K to college. Students learn listening and communication, teamwork, critical and creative thinking, self-advocacy, and other abilities through the exploration of musical theatre’s foundational skills: acting, singing, dancing.

In the future, we will offer more opportunities for students to explore the range of what it means to be a theatre artist, including playwriting, content creation, songwriting, production skills like lighting and set design, and other aspects of the performing arts.

REPORTS TO: Wardrobe Supervisor

OBJECTIVE: Provide support to wardrobe supervisor for in-house costume shop for theatre that produces 11 shows per season.

HOURS: Part-Time as needed for theatre schedule

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Build costumes from patterns or draping
  • Assist with the day-to-day running of the shop (clerical work, running errands, costume research and shopping)
  • Pre-production and post-production set up/takedown of dressing rooms
  • Maintain costumes and any hairpieces/wigs
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as requested by wardrobe supervisor

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent, some college

SKILLS: Applicants should be detail-oriented and organized, have computer skills in Word, Excel, and internet browsers, and must have a car and valid driver’s license.

EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have proficient experience constructing costumes of various materials from flat patterns and/or draping.

REPORTS TO: House Manager

OBJECTIVE: Provide excellent customer service and maintain a smooth operation of the bar and merchandise areas. Work in a fun environment.

HOURS: Evening and Weekend hours based on weekly theatre schedule, not to exceed 40 hrs per week without prior approval.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

  • Ensure that operations run smoothly for patrons who attend the theatre
  • Be TABC licensed and maintain all guidelines according to TABC
  • Help managers maintain inventory
  • Stock bar and merchandise
  • Take payments through Square and give correct change to patrons
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as requested
  • Table service experience a plus

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent, some college

SKILLS:

  • Communication
