About Laura Strawser
Apprentice Program
A native of Fort Worth, Texas, Laura graduated from Oklahoma City University with a degree in Dance Performance. She performed in the National Tours of Hello, Dolly!, Crazy For You, Funny Girl, and Copacabana, and in a number of regional and summer stock theatre production including West Side Story, Gypsy, Anything Goes, South Pacific, and Oklahoma! As a choreographer she has staged productions of Will Rogers Follies, The Producers, The Wedding Singer, Thoroughly Modern Mille, Mame, Footloose, Once on This Island, Annie, Nunsense, and Rent, worked in regional and summer stock theatres including Casa Manana, West Virginia Public Theatre, Granbury Opera House, and Arts Council of Coastal Carolina, and was nominated for a Column Award for Best Choreographer of Theatre Arlington’s production of Altar Boyz. She has also been seen in Singin in the Rain at Trump Plaza and the world-renowned Radio City Christmas Spectacular! Laura is an Adjunct Faculty at Texas Christian University for over ten years. She teaches Pilates, Pilates Practicum, Musical Theatre Jazz, Commercial Jazz, and rehearsal directs for the School for Classical & Contemporary Dance and Musical Theatre Dance in the Theatre Department. She helped stage the 150th Celebration at TCU in the Fall of 2024 and oversaw TCU Theatre’s The Kaleidoscope Series – The Choreographer’s Stage in Spring of 2023 and upcoming again in the Spring of 2025. She also owns and teaches Pilates at her studio, Fort Worth Classical Pilates, and is a recent graduate of Texas Women’s University with her Master of Arts in Theatre.
