Counselors at Casa Mañana spend part of their summer behind-the-scenes of a professional theatre, helping teaching artists and Casa Mañana staff create an amazing experience for our Campers!
AGE REQUIREMENTS:
– Camp Casa: High School Counselors must be at least 20 years old and currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate institution.
– Camp Casa and Camp Casa Jr. Counselors must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate institution.
– Counselors-in-Training (CITs) must be between 15 and 17 years old for Camp Casa and must be between 14 and 17 years old for Camp Casa Jr.
Counselors will:
– Lead a team of campers
– Be present and actively involved backstage at all performances
– Develop practical skills and model professional behavior
– Explore multiple aspects of theatre education
– Be mentored by and network with a range of theatre professionals
– Assist with student drop-off and pick-up
– Coordinate and collaborate with Directors, Instructors, and Staff on class exercises, rehearsals, and projects
– Lead and oversee a small team of Counselors-in-Training
Counselors-in-Training (CITs) will:
– Assist Counselors in leading a team of students through camp
– Assist with student drop-off and pick-up
– Explore multiple aspects of theatre education
– Serve as the backstage crew during performances
– Demonstrate a passion for performance, learning and teaching others
– Be mentored by and network with a range of theatre professionals
